A Final Note..

Wow!  Hard to believe that the camp is finished for another year and the summer will now move on towards another hockey season.   There were a great deal of highlights over the course of the week and hope that you take the time to look through the posted pictures to remind you of your favourites.  As always, the camp focused on hockey fundamentals in our on and off ice programs and includes an emphasis on leadership and team training.  Our coaches covered a broad range of topics from attitude to nutrition and even touched on power play and penalty kill theory.  On ice it was business as usual as we tried to keep everyone moving with a steady dose of skills, team play, and, of course….fun!  Each year we try to introduce new elements to our camp that will better serve your hockey needs and make the camp more rewarding.  This year we included a report card to go with our testing program and developed a power skating circuit that could build and reinforce good skating technique in each of the major areas on a daily basis.  This varies from traditional power skating instruction which involves teaching and drilling a skill, only to move on to a different skill on each subsequent day, leaving little time for review.  The third addition is this website which we hope you enjoy as much as we have enjoyed its creation.   We would also like to thank our staff for their effort and dedication to the same philosophies and goals that we feel makes this camp a success and I can tell you they have as much fun as the campers.  It was a great week and I want to thank all of you for taking part and working so hard.   Don’t be a stranger this season as we cross paths in various arenas and we look forward to having you back next year!
