Advanced Training Program for Hockey

Concept: The Advance Training Program camp provides an opportunity for the high level player to take the next step in his/her on and off ice preparation. Campers will be provided with instruction in the following areas:
On Ice
Two hours of instruction featuring:
- Skill fundamentals
- Skating – forward, backwards, starts, stops, and turns
- Stick handling
- Passing – forehand, backhand, saucer
- All shots – wrist, snap, backhand, and slap shot
- Checking – body and stick checks
- Team tactics
- Breakout
- Attacking in odd man situations
- Defending odd man situations
- Scoring and defending strategies
- Positional responisbilities
- Testing and analysis
- Video and radar analysis of shots and skating
Off Ice (Instructed by Mark O’Leary)
Two hours of fitness, hockey skills and off-ice training including:
- Fitness training
- Speed, agility, plyometrics, footwork
- Tactics
- Teamwork and team building
- Coaches chalk board
- Nutrition basics
- Mental preparation
- Strategies and tactics
- Fun in the sun
- Bring lunch and two snacks daily
